We are delighted to announce the continuation and formalisation of our charity partnership with the Rosie May Foundation.
As many of you will be aware, we have long supported the Rosie May Foundation, with a variety of fundraising activities over the years. However, not many people are aware that Janette and Richard Basing and their daughter Hayley Basing from our club are sponsors of the charity. It’s a charity that remains close to the hearts of all those involved in Hamworthy United F.C.
The Rosie May foundation looks to provide a world in which every child grows up in a safe, nurturing family and has a positive future. Following the murder of their only daughter Rosie May, Founders Mary and Graham May set up their charity to provide support to those children most in need across the world. You can see the amazing results of the charity and read more about the charity *here*.
Over the season you will notice a range of charity events nights that we will be holding for the Rosie May Foundation and hope to help raise a considerable donation to their cause. In addition, we will see a pink tuk tuk appear at least one of our matches to raise the awareness to everyone involved.
Steve Harvey, Chairman, Hamworthy United, said:
“The Rosie May foundation is truly amazing, as a club we are delighted to support this cause and highlight their mission to our fans, supporters and the wider community. We are delighted to formalise this arrangement and encourage everyone to find out more and donate where you can”.
Founder, Mary Storrie, commented,
We would like to thank Hamworthy United for choosing us as their charity to support we hope that our partnership will be mutually beneficial for all involved. A special thanks to the incredible support from the Basing family who we had the privilege of being able to introduce to some of our families in Sri Lanka earlier this year whose lives have been transformed through their sponsorship and fantastic fundraising.
