The Hammers' 1st team return to Wessex League action on Saturday as they face AFC Stoneham away. A tough fixture on paper against ones of the sides many think will feature in the top 6 come season end. So far, Stoneham have played 2 matches away from home like the Hammers, a 1-1 draw with Blackfield & Langley in the league and a 3-1 win over Moneyfields in the FA Cup, a decent start!

This fixture was one of the 14 played last season when Hamworthy came away with all 3 points after a 3-2 win.

On Tuesday night, we welcome Portland Utd for their "local" derby. The match down on the Island last season was a tight affair and on a below par night, Hamworthy managed to come away with the win 2-1. Portland lost midweek to Bournemouth Poppies in a FA Cup replay 1-3 and lost their league opener home to Shaftesbury so will be very keen on getting their season going in the right direction. they travel to Hythe & Dibden on Saturday.

The first week of this season saw 2 road trips to Brockenhurst and both times, Manager Tim Sills' side came away with a 2-1 victory though both games could have had more goals. So it is 3 pts in the league and progression to the FA Cup Preliminary Round and a trip to Westbury Utd on Saturday 21st August. There is a coach going and there are a limited number of spaces, so if you would like to travel and support the Hammers in the cup, please make contact through the site by e-mail or leave a message on chat. The Coach leaves the County Ground at Midday and returns somewhen between 6:30 and 7:30pm. The cost for a return seat on the coach is £10.

The Hamworthy Reserves return "Home" to the Dorset Premier League on Saturday and have a batism of fire as it were with one of the favourites for the title, Merley Cobham Sports being the visitors. The Clubhouse is open and entry is £4/£3 so come on down and support the Reserves who's last Friendly saw an entertaining draw with Wessex League Division 1 side Downton!

Finally, thank you for your support on Tuesday when a hastily arranged Friendly against the neighbours Poole Town took place and a decent match saw Jamie Beasley equalise late on and a Hamworthy winner was chalked off with the last kick of the match. A valuable runout for Hamworthy. The attendance was 128!!
